An Interview w/ Gerald Sensabaugh

Q: Did you watch the N.C. State-Miami game? "It was a good football game. N.C. State gave them some troubles a little bit, but I don't know, it was crazy." Q: You said they had the simplest offense you've played, does that mean they're one of the most talented? "They're really talented. From the tape I've seen, they run the same basic plays over and over again. It looks like I've seen probably about six plays, and they just execute it, basically." Q: Have you seen a team with as much speed as Miami? "No. I thought Florida State was pretty fast, but they're faster than Florida State." Q: What about you guys coming off not a good performance against Utah. Can you have enough confidence to go out there and play? "Yeah every week we go out there with confidence. We have to. Against Utah, we went out there and shut them down early. Then it went haywire. If we could just play consistent throughout the whole game, we'll be fine. It's like the Georgia Tech game -- we played pretty consistent that game. N.C. State -- we made big plays when it counted. As long as we can get those things on the road we'll be fine." Q: What have you seen in Brock Berlin, he's gotten some criticism but is 16-2 as a starter at Miami. Just what have you seen in their quarterback play the last couple games? "Basically their offense is based on receivers just burning their guys [by] five yards. That's the easy throw for the quarterback. Generally you don't see him make too many tight throws where the corner or the [defensive back] is right next to [the receiver]. As long as we can stay on our guys, he'll have a hard time throwing the ball accurately. Q: When someone says to you, "Miami Hurricanes," what comes to mind for you? "I've never liked Miami or Florida State. That's one reason why I wanted to play them. They're always one of the top dogs, top five in the nation. I used to always like to see them get beat.
